Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Northern Colorado and Southeast Wyoming recently combined operations with GreenPath Financial Wellness. GreenPath has been providing consumers with non-profit financial education and counseling services for 50 years. If you do not live in Southeast Wyoming, you can find the phone number for an office in your area by visiting the National Foundation for Credit Counseling website at

A nonprofit with helpful information and good links. Recognized as the oldest and most comprehensive debt management agency on the Internet, it now has over 2,000 pages of financial information and resources to help consumers to resolve their financial hardship, to get out of debt and to achieve financial independence.

The Debt Counselors of America web site. Steve Rhode is a consumer debt expert that assists consumer for free through and other sites.

American Consumer Credit Counseling

A nonprofit credit counseling service. American Consumer Credit Counseling helps consumers take control of their financial lives through credit counseling, debt consolidation and financial education.

Learn about common debt problems from the U.S. federal government, including filing for bankruptcy.

The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Wyoming

The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Wyoming has a wonderful web site. The court is using a very innovative program called PACER that allows you to review the documents that are filed in your case from the Internet. Also, if you are a creditor, you may use this site to determine if someone has filed and then review their petition, schedules and all pleadings, which have been filed in the case. Selected court opinions may be accessed through a search engine. There are also links for bankruptcy forms. You may also find out about cases from the court's automated voice system (Voice Case Information System--VCIS) by dialing 307-772-2195 and PACER (Public Access to Court Electronic Records) by dialing 1-800-676-6856.

Wyoming State Bar

This is the web site for the Wyoming State Bar. The Bar is very helpful if you are having problems with your attorney.  

Federal Trade Commission

The Federal Trade Commission site has very helpful information about credit reports and the rules, which bill collectors must observe. You may read more about the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, which sets standards for permissible bill collector actions, at

National Automobile Dealers Association

The NADA provides free valuation estimates for used vehicles. If you have to file bankruptcy, this is helpful in determining the value of your car or truck. Also, check out the Kelly Blue Book site

U.S. Trustee Program

The U.S. Trustee Program office oversees the bankruptcy trustees. There is some information about bankruptcy, including criminal prosecutions for bankruptcy fraud.

A frugal living web site with links to many other similar sites.

Association of Credit and Collection Professionals

The American Bill Collectors web site has a good summary of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. They will also mediate complaints about collectors.
